This disclaimer separates a normal map estimate from a geometry bake or calibrated material measurement. Normal-map texture output and tangent-space normal direction still require checks on the final mesh, while normal vectors can change through import and compression.
1. Independent tool and third-party trademarks
Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. NormalMapGenerator.net is an independent website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those owners. It is not owned by, partnered with, sponsored by, certified by, or officially recognized by Unity Technologies, Epic Games, the Blender Foundation, or any other software vendor. Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, OpenGL, DirectX, and other third-party names appear only where they are needed to explain compatibility, texture import settings, or a practical workflow. Every product name, service name, and trademark remains the property of its respective owner. NormalMapGenerator.net does not use a third party's logo without authorization. Software vendors may change application behavior, terminology, brand-use policies, import defaults, rendering pipelines, and technical requirements at any time. A workflow described here may therefore need adjustment for a later software release. Before making a production decision, check the latest official documentation published by the relevant vendor.
2. Your responsibility for source material
Process only material that you created or are lawfully authorized to use. You are responsible for checking every relevant copyright, trademark, model or character right, photography permission, client contract, employment term, confidentiality obligation, and asset-marketplace license. A license may permit use inside one project while prohibiting redistribution of the source or a derived texture. NormalMapGenerator.net cannot determine whether an image, scan, texture, photograph, model-related file, or derived asset infringes another party's rights or violates an agreement. Running a technical transformation does not transfer, expand, replace, or grant any right in the source material. Source files are processed locally in the browser rather than submitted for editorial or legal review. The website consequently has neither an obligation nor a practical ability to monitor, approve, or assess the contents of files that a user processes locally.
3. Rights and permitted use of generated output
NormalMapGenerator.net does not claim ownership of files you select or files generated in your browser. However, the scope in which an output may be used continues to depend on the ownership, permissions, and restrictions attached to its source. Creating a Normal, Ambient Occlusion (AO), Height, displacement, roughness, specular, or other texture map does not erase an original license, attribution duty, resale restriction, trademark issue, confidentiality term, or contractual limit. The website does not guarantee that an output is a separate copyright work, qualifies for copyright registration, or may be used commercially, resold, redistributed, sublicensed, or uploaded to an asset marketplace without further permission. A technically different file is not necessarily a legally unrestricted file. Review the governing license and chain of rights before publication or delivery. When ownership, registration, resale, or a high-value commercial release is important or uncertain, obtain advice from a qualified professional in the relevant jurisdiction.
4. Technical results and compatibility limits
Outputs are generated or estimated by image-processing algorithms. They are not guaranteed to reconstruct real geometry, material properties, depth, reflectance, or lighting accurately, and they are not guaranteed to suit every game engine, renderer, rendering pipeline, importer, device, or platform. Inspect the result in its actual destination. In particular, verify the Y+ or Y− convention, green-channel direction, color-space treatment, compression mode, tangent basis, UV layout, seams, scale, and strength. A preview on this website cannot reproduce every mesh, shader, mipmap, export, or runtime condition. Software updates may also change import behavior and recommended settings after this text is published. Keep unmodified source backups and test representative production builds before replacing an asset. To the extent permitted by applicable law, NormalMapGenerator.net makes no guarantee against production loss, damaged or overwritten assets, rework, project delay, or compatibility problems arising from use of an output.
Generated normal maps and PBR maps are image-derived estimates. Verify orientation, scale, seams, color space, and engine import settings before production use. You are responsible for rights to source images and exported assets.
